Zweigelt 2.0! A drinkable red wine with depth and extravagance. The wine shows a fine fruity and round bouquet. Due to the high proportion of sediment, it has a dark color in the typical purple. On the palate, cherry and berries combine with a pleasantly spicy tone.
The mash contact lasted four weeks and the resulting wine was then used without pressing the grapes. The further expansion took place in steel tanks for about a year. The bottle was deliberately filled to be very cloudy in order to preserve the valuable ingredients and to keep the wine's original character.
The wine is vibrant hazy light-purple with modest but pleasantly exciting aromas of frozen wild black cherries, black berries, blueberries with nuances of warm spices, licorice, cacao and a tiny touch of wet autumn leaves. The generous succulent palate is dry, energetic and fruit driven with lively refreshing acidity and rounded somewhat dusty tannins. The black fruit is matching and nicely almost jammy with nuances of soft cinnamon pastry, pepper, forest fruit yoghurt and some delicate salinity. The medium-long finish is perfectly clean.
The wine was bottled without filtration and stabilization, which is clearly visible in the glass. In the nose very fruity (mostly sour cherries, blackberries and blueberries) but also salty and smoky, which is very intriguing and rarely found in red wines. tastes super fruity, smooth and dense. It has a youthful energy and verve.
